ECS is developing mobos that not only meet the performance needs of consumers, but they are also working to bring similar technologies and chipsets to market at a lower cost. The H55H-M is one of those boards selling for around $65 from most vendors, but it gives users a capable board that can handle any LGA 1156 processor and even a decent PCI-E graphics card to boot. Motherboard - Jul 14, 2010 | 09:00 AM MSI started the Big Bang series of motherboard to attempt to take back some of the ultra high-end market from the competition and the new XPower option takes it to a new level by offering impressive power and stability options along with overclocking goods and the ability to support as many as six graphics cards! Let's see if the performance and features on the board are worth the fairly high cost. Motherboard - Jul 05, 2010 | 02:00 PM This platform supports all of today’s latest HD formats as well like 720p, 1080i, and 1080p, which makes it a great upgrade for home theater PC builders. MSI built the H55M-ED55 around this chipset, but added more overclocking capabilities through their OCGenie technology that allows one-click overclocking through a nifty button located right on the motherboard. This board also supports overclocked DDR3-2133 memory, two PCIe 2.0 graphics cards, and 8.1 high definition audio. Motherboard - Jun 28, 2010 | 09:00 AM Mini ITX motherboards are growing in popularity because of their low power consumption, good performance, and support for high definition video and audio. They are also a good solution for users on a budget because most (if not all) are being outfitted with integrated video and CPUs like the ASRock A330ION we are evaluating today. The A330ION brings together NVidia's MCP7A-ION platform and Intel's dual core Atom 330 processor to create a small form factor HTPC solution that's capable of lower-end gaming and Blu-ray 1080p playback right out of the box. Motherboard - Jun 14, 2010 | 02:00 PM Gigabyte has been all over the new SATA 3.0 and USB 3.0 technologies with their latest line of X58A-based motherboards and we finally got the opportunity to test drive an X58A-UD3R. This motherboard has been winning hardware review awards left and right from across the tech review empire so it will be interesting to evaluate it against a few X58 offerings. Motherboard - May 25, 2010 | 05:00 PM MSI continues to brand their Big Bang series of motherboards as THE top solution for enthusiasts, overclockers and gamers. The new XPower motherboard brings that to the X58 chipset and the Intel Bloomfield processors for the first time. Come check out our video preview to see the overview of features and specs before the full review! Motherboard - May 14, 2010 | 12:00 PM ASRock has added four H55 solutions to their line of Intel motherboards. We received the H55DE3, which is a budget board that includes some higher-end features like quad CrossfireX support, full 1080p Blu-ray playback, and multiple video output options built right into the board. The H55 chipset itself delivers new capabilities for digital home, small office, and home office consumers, and this is the centerpiece for ASRock to build the H55DE3 around. Motherboard - May 07, 2010 | 03:00 PM ASRock shipped us one of their P55 Extreme motherboards to review, which was created for the LGA 1156 crowd and comes bundled with decent features like quad CrossfireX and SLI support, an add-on card for SATA 6GB/s devices, and custom overclocking options that will make newcomers to overclocking foam at the mouth. Motherboard - Mar 09, 2010 | 10:00 AM The ASUS Workstation line of motherboards offers a set of features that very few other motherboards can including up to 7 individual PCI Express x16 slots and even SAS storage support. If you need that kind of connectivity then you will likely be interested in what the P6T7 and P7P55 WS provide! Motherboard - Mar 02, 2010 | 12:12 AM AMD's history of chipset releases have been bittersweet. Featuring cutting edge graphics and excellent performance, AMD's chipsets have often been held back by their mediocre southbridge and I/O performance. AMD is hoping to change that by introducing the new 890GX, which features a redesigned northbridge as well as a new southbridge featuring the first native SATA 6G support. Motherboard - Feb 22, 2010 | 04:00 PM Gigabyte's micro ATX motherboards have become a staple in the industry for providing the speed and power usually reserved for full ATX motherboards. The GA-P55M-UD4 is one of their latest creations for the LGA 1156 platform and it includes a couple unique features like CrossfireX and SLI graphics support (x16 and x8), DDR3 2200, and 7.1 high definition audio. Motherboard - Feb 16, 2010 | 12:00 PM The oft-desired EVGA P55 FTW includes the rock-solid P55 chipset, a 12+2 phase power design, and support for dual channel DDR3 2600MHz memory. The board also showcases a black and grey color scheme and includes onboard clear CMOS, power, and reset buttons. This board also has a host of other features unique to higher-end EVGA boards like EVbot and triple BIOS support. Motherboard - Feb 05, 2010 | 10:00 AM The feature sets on many boards can vary widely depending on who they are geared toward, but there is a consensus right now for these basic options -- quad core CPU support, quad GPU graphics support, premium audio (onboard or as add-on), and higher rated DDR3 memory support. These are tall orders for many boards to live up to, but one such micro ATX solution that fits the bill is the ASUS Maximus III Gene. Motherboard - Dec 09, 2009 | 12:00 PM MSI has developed a new brand to encompass their high-end motherboard products called Big Bang. The first offering under this name is the Trinergy, a P55 motherboard that includes support for 3-Way SLI and THX certified audio. It also includes some great overclocking features and something you don't ever here me praise: great documentation! What?!? Motherboard - Dec 04, 2009 | 12:00 PM Intel's LGA 1156 and P55 chipset was released a few months ago and since that time we have reviewed several offerings from high-end vendors like ASUS and Gigabyte. Today, we have a more budget-minded board from ECS called the P55H-A that has many features users will find on higher-end P55 boards, but for a fraction of the cost. Motherboard - Dec 02, 2009 | 02:00 PM On Dec. 1, Zotac released what they are touting as "the world's fastest mini-ITX platform" for gamers and home theaters users with their GeForce 9300-ITX WiFi LGA 775 motherboard. This new mini ITX solution should give users all the overclocking functions that were lacking in the previous version. Motherboard - Nov 18, 2009 | 11:00 PM While NVIDIA may not be taking SLI for the AMD market seriously anymore, luckily their partner MSI is. The NF980-E65 is the only triple SLI enthusiast board aimed at the AMD AM3 market, and they are hoping to capitalize on that distinction. The big question is... do they succeed in providing a motherboard for that niche worthy of your money? Motherboard - Nov 13, 2009 | 12:00 PM The positive press around Intel's P55 chipset and LGA 1156 platform has been all the rage and the accolades keep coming right into the holidays. Gigabyte was kind enough to send us their flagship P55 motherboard -- the P55-UD6. This particular board doesn't support USB 3.0 or SATA 6GB/s like some of its newer brethren, but it does have many overclocking and enthusiast-level features that should catch consumer's attention during the holiday season. One company who jumped on the 785G bandwagon was ECS, who sent us one of their first A785GM-M Black Series motherboards to review. This particular board has many features that used to be reserved for higher-end ATX boards like support for AMD 140w processors, AMD Hybrid Crossfire technology, and DirectX 10.1 capabilities. Motherboard - Aug 24, 2009 | 10:00 PM We have yet another P55 motherboard preview to share with you today as we continue to prepare for the mounting barrage of Intel Lynnfield processor reviews and associated P55 offerings. This ASUS P7P55D Premium looks to be the only (or one of just a couple) boards to actually keep the Marvell 9123 SATA 6G chip. The power phase technology on the Premium is also pretty unique - be sure to stop in and see what is coming next month! Motherboard - Aug 04, 2009 | 12:10 AM AMD's latest broadside in the integrated graphics war may not be over the top, but it certainly adds a lot of zing to a relatively boring market. You still can't play Crysis with it, but users will be pleasantly surprised by the total package offered by the 785G. Motherboard - Jul 29, 2009 | 03:55 PM FedEX has been busy as of late delivering to my house, and today I received a gem from them. This micro-ATX motherboard based on the unreleased AMD 785G chipset is a shockingly complete motherboard with many high end components. Stuff usually relegated to full size ATX boards. Will this be the latest power-user micro-ATX board, and furthermore be the board of choice for HTPC users? More testing is needed to confirm that, but the first look is certainly impressive. Motherboard - Jul 28, 2009 | 03:00 AM ASUS is at it again - showing off yet another upcoming P55 motherboard, this time the P7P55D Deluxe aimed a user that is looking for both competent overclocking options as well as an easy-to-use experience.
